Lamia, as an important urban hub of central Greece, offers various means of transportation that serve the needs of residents and visitors alike.
For travelers who prefer to travel by car, Lamia has well-maintained roads and highways that allow easy access through all directions. Specifically, the E65 highway connects it to cities such as Trikala and Patras, while the E75 covers both north and south destinations towards the major urban centers of Thessaloniki and Athens.
The railway station of Lianokladi (with a connection to the station in Lamia) provides frequent connections to destinations throughout Greece.
The intercity bus station connects Lamia with many major cities in Greece either directly or with passing by buses, as well as connecting smaller towns and villages to each other, in the wider area.
For local transportation within the city, there are also local urban bus lines and taxi services available.
Many residents and visitors choose bicycles as a means of transportation, as Lamia has bike lanes and cycling paths that facilitate safe riding.
