Pan-Hellenic Exhibition of Lamia
The Pan-Hellenic Exhibition of Lamia (P.E.L.) is one of the oldest and most historic exhibitions in Greece, now ranking among the most significant commercial, cultural, and educational meeting points in the country. Annually, thousands of visitors from various regions gather in Lamia to enjoy the unique spectrum of exhibits and cultural events it offers.
The initial plan, as proposed by the Chamber of Commerce, the Commercial Association of Lamia, the Federation of Professionals, as well as political and administrative figures, aimed to make the Exhibition a modern showcase of the products of the Prefecture, taking place every May.
Although the efforts of these bodies and individuals for its implementation began as early as 1958, the first organization took place in 1967 with the 1st Agricultural Exhibition in a specially leased space in the northern part of Lamia. From its very first organization, it attracted exhibitors from all over Greece. In 1970, a plot of 167,000 square meters was purchased, and in 1974, its 8th organization took place there, continuing at the same location until today.
A milestone for the Exhibition was the establishment of its Legal Entity in 1975. Since then, the Exhibition has been operating continuously and modernizing. In 1988, the construction of three covered exhibition spaces, each covering an area of 2,700 square meters, began.
Through innovative commercial activities and a rich program that includes concerts, theatrical performances, scientific conferences, and congresses, P.E.L. aims to be a catalyst for development in the region. Efforts are made every passing year to provide better services to both exhibitors and visitors.
